Creepers

Creepers shoes may seem like a novelty now, but what nobody has realized is that these shoes might seem modern and innovative, but they are nothing new. Then this is why Sally's Nerd makes this post, keep reading!

Creepers shoes originated in the years following World War II, soldiers from North African bases wore canvas boots with hard rubber soles to withstand both heat and also the desert soils.

These soldiers, after the war returned to London, where the creepers were baptized as brothel creepers . The 'boom' of the moment was then, in the 50's when a Teddy boy  chose creepers to complete his look of skinny jeans, thin tie and toupee. That was when the creepers were crossed out as a  more Rock 'n Roll fashion.

In the 70s became a punk fashion. When Malcom Mclaren's decided to sell them in his shop Let it Rock. It is when these shoes punk, ska and grease people put them on. In the '80s began mastering Underground, which is the firm that has sold more shoes of this style.

Other big names of the moment that have also opted for this style of shoe, are Prada spring / summer 2011 where soles are histrionics and soaring. And Chanel Cruise 2013 where the soles were white and with a pointless gothic.

We can say then that all comes back in fashion, in one form or another and someone ends up betting on the great successes of fashion.

Los zapatos Creepers pueden parecer una novedad de el momento, pero lo que de nadie se ha dado cuenta es que estos zapatos tan modernos y innovadores, no son nada nuevo. Atent@s!

Los zapatos creepers tienen su origen en los años posteriores a la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los soldados de las bases norafricanas llevaban unas botas de lona con suelas de goma dura para aguantar tanto el calor como de los suelos desérticos.

Estos soldados, después de la guerra y al volver a Londres, se les bautizaron como brothel creepers (de burdel).  El ‘boom’ del momento fue entonces, en los 50’ cuando un Teddy boy eligió los creepers para completar su look de pantalones pitillos, corbata fina y tupé. Entonces fue cuando se los tachó como una moda más Rock ’n Roll.

En los 70’ se volvieron una moda más punk. Cuando Malcom Mclaren los decidió poner a la venta en su tienda Let it Rock. Es cuando estos zapatos, se los ponía gente más punk, ska y grease. En los 80’ empezó el dominio de Underground, que es la firma que ha vendido más zapatos de este estilo.

Otras grandes marcas del momento que también han apostado por este estilo de zapato, son Prada en primavera/verano 2011 donde llevan el histrionismo y suela altísimos. Y Chanel en el Crucero de 2013 que son suelas blancas y un punto menos gótico.

Es así entonces que en la moda todo vuelve, de una forma u otra y alguien acaba apostando por los grandes éxitos de la moda.
